What is "Qi"?

We are all born with a powerful energy called “Qi” ( or Chi). Qi is your internal energy or life force. Qi begins in the womb and helps us grow and develop. As we get older our Qi depletes and moves away from our center (or Dan Tien). This can cause sickness, loss of energy, and other problems as we age.

Qi Kung practice can build your Qi back up and move it back into the Dan tien to rejuvenate, help regulate your body, and help you become healthier while experiencing less pain and stress. Qi is a very powerful energy found in all of us, but unfortunately, most of us do not know how to tap into it.

Why is "Qi" so important?

When we are babies we breathe properly and are well oxygenated, but as we get older, we start to breathe more shallowly, bringing air higher up into our chests. This type of chest breathing starves our bodies of oxygen. Add to that the stress of daily life and aging, and our Qi begins to deplete and/or weaken. This is why we begin to experience more aches and pains and become sick more often. The stronger your Qi, the better your quality of life becomes. When Qi is gone, your life’s energy is gone.

By studying and practicing Qi Kung you can build up and restore this original Qi, experience better oxygenation and circulation, melt away stress, relieve aches and pains, and enjoy a stronger healthier body.

Through Qi Kung breathing meditation techniques you can relax your body, relieve pain, help regulate bodily functions, and more. Think about what your body needs to function properly. Oxygen is extremely important! What if you could up your oxygen intake  and increase circulation at the same time? This would increase the ability of all the cells in your body to keep you healthy and heal you faster. Every cell needs oxygen to survive, so why not give them what they need. The best part is that you will feel the difference right away. It doesn't take months to begin feeling better. Of course, the more you learn and the more you practice, the better you will feel.

Qi Kung also strengthens your body from the inside out. Our dynamic forms and intense training will strengthen all the tendons, muscles, and joints in your body, making you stronger and healthier. Through regular practice you can lose weight as well. The best part about Qi Kung is that anyone -- young or old -- can do it. Everyone progresses at their own pace, gradually becoming stronger, physically and mentally.

The goal is developing the ability to let your Qi flow throughout your body, opening up all of your meridians and allowing your Qi to work for you.
